Topgolf is one of the nation’s premier entertainment venues that opened a facility in the Alviso community in San Jose. The 83,000 square-foot facility houses 120 hitting bays, a wine bar, game-watching bar, outdoor patio, and conference rooms. Guests have the opportunity to track distance, speed, and accuracy of each swing.

Located on the Bay 101 Card Club site, the Hilton Embassy Suites is a 7-story, 174 room hotel that covers 3.48 acres and will feature bicycle lockers, loop racks, enhanced paving, and LED bollards.
HMH provided civil engineering, design, planning and surveying services for this seven-story hotel on approximately 0.8 acres. A record data base sheet of the site boundary, easements and other encumbrances of record based upon a current preliminary title report was prepared and horizontal control and a layout based on the architect’s site plan was calculated. On-site improvements were designed, and HMH assisted the client in obtaining permit approval from the City of Santa Clara Building Department.
The HMH Landscape Architecture team recently completed the 1.5 acres hospitality project, AC Hotel San Francisco Airport/Oyster Point Waterfront. The client, OTL Development, was looking to create a unique destination hotel that is integrated within the larger Oyster Point Waterfront campus, also known as The Cove. The end result is a beautiful space for hotel guests to wind down, relax, and enjoy the views of the San Francisco Bay.
This updated space includes an intimate courtyard, an integrated ecosystem that won’t interfere with current aesthetics, patio trees, bike racks, and modern site furnishings. The project met the client’s needs, budget, deadlines, and coordination across multiple teams.
The Gateway at Millbrae Station project, located in Millbrae, is a mixed-use/transit oriented development that includes 151,583 SF of Class A Office Space, 44,123 SF of retail and restaurants, 320 market rate apartments, 100 affordable housing units (80 units are veterans preferred), a 164 room hotel, a community event plaza, bike and pedestrian facilities, and Linear Park.
The focus of the project is to create a community-driven quality space environment where residents can enjoy and access local amenities while fostering a thriving community. Residents and commuters will have the opportunity to interact and engage with the space as the key elements will create an environment where one could live, work, shop, and dine.
In addition to building a close community, the Millbrae Station project also focuses on eco-friendliness, which include the latest in energy-efficient and water-saving features and a variety of walkable and separate bikeable pathways for both residents and commuters.
The Shops @ Terra is a 38-acre site in the Alviso community in San Jose that is conveniently located on North First Street off Highway 237. The project will include Topgolf, a premier sports and entertainment venue, as well as two hotels and multiple retail buildings.

Bay 101 Card Club is a destination place where guests can “work, stay and play”. The Card Club is the first completed project on this multi phased site. It has a new restaurant, roof deck, exterior patio and incorporates the latest gaming technology. Future projects on this 16.7 acre site includes an office tower, two hotels and a parking garage.
As a way to improve the overall customer experience, one of the important elements in the design of the Card Club was to have Master Yau, a Feng Shui consultant, make recommendations to the layout in order to enhance the customer’s luck. One of Mr. Yau’s recently completed projects include the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
