Rivermark of Santa Clara

Rivermark is located in the heart of Silicon Valley on the former Agnew Hospital site. This 225 acre planned urban community includes a retail center, hotel, park facilities, public school, senior housing, apartments, multi-family podium structures, townhouses and single-family homes. A proactive team approach between all design consultants provided an integrated design that lead to the project’s success. This community, designed in accordance with the new urban concepts, features neighborhoods with a variety of housing attractive to younger, older, singles and families; a town center within walking distance of the housing; a network of streets and street deflections that calms traffic and increases visual interest; and designed outdoor spaces that help create the sense of "place."

Midtown Plaza

Midtown Plaza is located on the site of the former Saddle Rack, a country and western bar. As part of the City of San Jose’s Midtown revitalization effort, this urban infill project consisted of market-rate high-density housing with 257 condominium units, a community building, a spa, and a pool. The four-story wood-framed buildings were constructed over a concrete podium, providing covered parking for residents. Frontage improvements included the closure of a public street, which created two cul-de-sacs situated back-to-back. Services provided included Conceptual Master Plans and Site Plans, Entitlement Management and Processing, Civil Engineering and Construction Staking.

Modern Ice

Oakland Road, San Jose, CA

Located on the old Modern Ice site this project will infuse 202 new single-family condominiums into this old industrial area of San Jose. Integrating a project this size into this area offered many challenges. Existing utility locations and connections, the proximity of the project to Highway 101, and the integration of storm water quality solutions into a public park required close coordination with other disciplines and professionals.

Plant 51

Bush Street, San Jose, CA

  • New structure was built in the center of the existing brick structure
Working with Centex Homes, and now Plant 51 LLC, HMH worked to help create a exciting new community close to downtown San Jose. This project site is an old canning facility and the homes are constructed within the old brick shell of the building. The interior landscape areas are divided into three courtyards and are all built on the podium. Raised planters include accent plantings and trees. Decorative tile and concrete paving accentuate the contemporary style of the project.
