HMH combines technical excellence with proactive project management techniques to deliver comprehensive designs for public and private projects. We emphasize high-quality performance with rigorous quality assurance programs that produce appropriate and innovative solutions for our clients.

GRADING DESIGN: Implementing the project concept to produce a constructible design requires careful consideration of the surrounding physical constraints – seeing the big picture and implementing the details. Upfront coordination of the construction details and use of the latest in CAD design software provides the backbone for our design and preparation of ROUGH GRADING PLANS. Careful coordination and clear communication between all project consultants is a key factor for the clarity revealed on our fine grading plans.

EROSION CONTROL COMPLIANCE: The control of storm water during construction is critical for the protection of our environment. Current state and local agency regulations pose increasingly stringent compliance requirements for construction projects that elevate the need for development, implementation, and monitoring of effective erosion and sediment control measures. HMH provides qualification-certified staff (CPESC and CPSWQ) with the experience needed to comply with these dynamic regulations. We prepare and provide erosion and sediment control plans; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans; and permit documents. We also provide field monitoring; runoff sampling and analysis; field documentation and reporting services.

TRANSPORTATION FACULTY DESIGN: Working with both Public Agencies and Private Developers, HMH performs facility planning, preliminary studies, and reports, plans, specifications and estimates for airports, light rail, freeways, interchanges, and local roads (including new construction and rehabilitation).

SUBSURFACE UTILITY DESIGN: HMH provides design services for subsurface utilities including storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water systems. Our services include existing utility research, mapping and capacity analysis, design for utility relocation and rehabilitation, and preparation of construction documents for new facilities, including supporting calculations.

CONSULTANT AND AGENCY COORDINATION: Communication and coordination among the client, consultant team, and agency staff is critically important for project success. Our design philosophy revolves around clear communication. A team-approach to design is facilitated through the use of composite exhibits and file sharing through our Sharefile site. Our long-term relationships with agency staff allow us to bring them into the design process, enabling streamlined processing and permit approvals.

CONSTRUCTION SERVICES: Our project design staff maintains project continuity with involvement during the construction of our projects. We assist in the preparation of bid documents, respond to bidder RFIs, perform periodic site visits to assess construction compliance, perform construction tolerance testing and prepare conformance reports. Our storm water compliance staff perform field observations and reporting for erosion control facilities. Project completion reports and record drawing are prepared for project close-out.
